Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Plant/Cost Controller to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $65.00 to $84.00 per hour
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations at the plant, including general ledger activity, cost tracking, and month end close responsibilities.
- Partner with operations leadership to support financial decision making through analysis of margins, labor, overhead, and production costs.
- Manage product costing, inventory accounting, and physical count support to ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and variance analysis to support site performance and planning.
- Supervise accounting staff, provide hands on support during system or ownership transitions, and assist with audit preparation.
Requirements
- Ability to manage day to day accounting and close activities in a manufacturing environment with minimal disruption.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting concepts and their impact on profitability and operational performance.
- Previous experience supporting audits and maintaining compliance with internal controls and reporting deadlines.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and support decision making.
- Comfortable multitasking, working hands on, and supporting a high volume, fast paced operation.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a plant controller or cost accounting leader in a manufacturing setting.
- Extensive background in manufacturing finance, with exposure to aerospace or defense environments.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and the ability to adapt to system transitions.
- CPA certification or public accounting background.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising accounting staff and partnering with operations teams.
