Responsibilities
• Build training, evaluation, and inference workflows for machine learning models
• Create reliable feature and dataset pipelines with data engineers
• Deploy model services and monitor model quality, latency, and reliability
• Write automated tests and investigate training or inference failures
• Partner with data scientists and product engineers to turn evaluated models into maintainable features
• Lead technical design and delivery for complex initiatives in this role, making tradeoffs explicit
• Mentor colleagues and improve review, documentation, and operational practices
Qualification
Required
• Practical experience building and deploying machine learning systems
• Strong Python skills and software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with a machine learning framework and reproducible model evaluation
• Understanding of data leakage, feature consistency, model serving, and monitoring
• Ability to troubleshoot production systems and collaborate with a remote team
• Demonstrated experience owning complex projects from design through production or business adoption
• Ability to lead technical decisions, review others' work, and mentor colleagues
Preferred
• Experience with PyTorch, containerized model services, or workflow orchestration
• Familiarity with recommendation systems, retrieval, distributed training, or inference optimization
