WhiteCap has been High-Growth Insurtech platform that is looking to add their 1st in-house Accounting & Finance hire as they look to scale the business forward.
Job Function
Own all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
Design and implement scalable accounting systems, controls, and policies
Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and board materials
Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning (FP&A)
Manage audits, tax filings, and relationships with external auditors and advisors
Oversee cash flow management and optimize working capital
Partner with Claims on various initiatives
Track claims payments and recoveries
Maintain accurate records of claims and commissions
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proficiency with QuickBooks
Experience with Excess & Surplus (E&S) Insurance Brokerage structures is highly desirable
6–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience (startup, fintech, Insurtech, or insurance brokerage experience a plus)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proven ability to build processes from the ground up in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to operate both strategically and tactically
