When a result changes unexpectedly, your first step will be to check the underlying records and calculations before drawing a conclusion.
Responsibilities
- Identify changes between reporting periods and bring unexpected results to the appropriate colleague for review.
- Document data sources, calculation methods, and limitations so others can understand your work.
- Clarify reporting requests with colleagues and communicate findings in straightforward language.
- Review source datasets for incomplete fields, repeated records, and formatting issues before analysis.
- Prepare summaries with spreadsheet formulas and basic SQL, using clearly defined reporting questions.
- Update recurring reports and dashboards, checking calculations before sharing results.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, filters, and pivot tables.
- Basic SQL knowledge, including selecting, filtering, and grouping records.
- A careful approach to checking data and resolving discrepancies.
- The ability to explain findings without overstating what the data supports.
- Clear written communication and the ability to organize assigned tasks remotely.
Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or another visualization tool is helpful but not required.
Compensation And Application
