About The Role
The DevOps Engineer role at Businessolver offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a rapidly growing technology company. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Linux System Administration, scripting, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Under minimal supervision, the DevOps Engineer I will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing our Linux systems, automation tools, and cloud infrastructure. This role involves performing daily system monitoring, ensuring the integrity and availability of hardware and software, and optimizing system performance through upgrades and resource management.
The successful candidate will research and implement innovative automation solutions for system administration tasks, provide Tier II support for incident management, and contribute to our knowledge base and documentation efforts. They will also influence broader technology groups by advocating for cloud best practices, security, and scalable solutions. Creativity and problem-solving are essential as the role involves proposing solutions to grow our business and improve client satisfaction. This position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence the adoption of cloud technologies and modern infrastructure practices.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience with AWS or an AWS Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent professional experience
- 2+ years of Linux systems administration and configuration experience
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash
- Experience with cloud networking and security best practices
- Proficiency with monitoring and alerting solutions
- Knowledge of DNS and web server configurations
- Ability to leverage AI tools to understand large and complex codebases quickly
- Experience automating infrastructure using Gitlab, Terraform, and CDK
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as ECS or Kubernetes
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies
- Highly motivated, innovative, and self-directed with a growth mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
Responsibilities
- Perform daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of hardware, servers, and key processes
- Review system and application logs, ensuring automated processes are completed successfully
- Conduct ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization
- Provision and configure hardware, peripherals, services, and storage in accordance with standards and operational requirements
- Research, develop, and implement automated solutions for system administration tasks
- Provide Tier II support for incidents and requests, investigating and troubleshooting issues
- Maintain and update documentation and knowledge base resources
- Influence and promote the adoption of cloud technologies, best practices, and security standards across broader teams
- Propose innovative solutions to enhance business growth and client satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives
