About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Cloud Software Engineer to join our Mission Networks Cloud Engineering team in Melbourne, FL. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions that enhance our customers' operational capabilities. Your expertise will help leverage leading cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop architectures, and implement APIs and serverless frameworks, ensuring our mission-critical programs meet stringent performance and security standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead innovative cloud initiatives, contribute to strategic roadmaps, and influence the evolution of our cloud infrastructure and applications.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 6-9 years of software development experience. Candidates with a Graduate Degree should have at least 4-7 years of relevant experience, while those without a degree must demonstrate at least 10-12 years of extensive software expertise. In addition, applicants should have a strong background in cloud computing, microservices architecture, and modern development practices. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) are highly preferred. Candidates must also be eligible to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust clearance, demonstrating their ability to work on sensitive government projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and integration of cloud software applications within an Agile environment, ensuring end-to-end compatibility between cloud and non-cloud components.
- Develop cloud-based applications aligned with program requirements and strategic business roadmaps, ensuring scalability and high availability.
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to review designs, provide accurate estimates, and identify risks, assumptions, and limitations.
- Implement DevOps best practices to automate build, test, and deployment processes, continuously improving operational efficiencies.
- Provide ongoing operational support to ensure high availability, performance, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Design, develop, and deploy microservices in containerized environments such as Kubernetes, EKS, or OpenShift, ensuring robust and scalable architectures.
- Work with cloud environments focusing on container workloads, databases, and object storage, ensuring security and compliance standards are met.
- Develop scalable, highly-available enterprise systems optimized for cloud deployment, leveraging modern architectural patterns and best practices.
- Maintain awareness of emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to continually enhance our cloud solutions and capabilities.
