About The Role
MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-oriented, and customer-focused Database Developer to join our team in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust databases that ensure data is available, accessible, and secure for all stakeholders. This role involves working closely with analysts and other team members to translate operational and data requirements into efficient database solutions. The Database Developer will play a critical role in optimizing data collection, storage, and analytics processes at an enterprise scale, supporting high-volume data architectures and ensuring system performance and reliability.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a high school diploma and at least 7 years of experience in database management, SQL, and PostgreSQL. Candidates should have a proven track record of translating data collection requirements into implementable solutions and analyzing data sources for accuracy. Experience working within a Linux environment is essential. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to be considered for this role. Strong communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with team members across various channels.
Responsibilities
- Write, maintain, and debug stored procedures to ensure optimal database performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand operational and data requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
- Optimize SQL queries for efficiency and speed when working with large datasets, including terabytes of data.
- Design database tables with clear schemas, appropriate indexing, and logical partitioning to enhance performance and manageability.
- Analyze data sources for accuracy, consistency, and relevance, applying appropriate logic to develop effective solutions.
- Provide platform support, troubleshoot issues, and debug production database problems to ensure minimal downtime.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and ongoing system improvements to maintain high-quality database solutions.
