About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works team in Berkeley, MO. This role is integral to supporting the Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) Solutions within Boeing's Phantom Works, an advanced research and development organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software solutions that support space-based effects and air domain missions. This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance and offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that have a significant impact on national security and technological advancement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related fields, along with extensive experience in software engineering. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, particularly with Java and/or C++, is required. Candidates must have an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Experience with MATLAB, Agile development methodologies, and familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems are highly desirable. Strong communication skills, a customer-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential. Additional qualifications include experience leading software projects, mentoring junior engineers, and knowledge of DevSecOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of software development tasks, including detailed design, coding, and comprehensive testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality features aligned with customer requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and translate these into software specifications and models that meet operational and performance criteria, ensuring traceability from design to testing.
- Conduct system-level analyses to identify risks, resolve issues, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the software lifecycle.
- Perform code reviews to maintain adherence to requirements and coding standards, promoting best practices within the team.
- Oversee testing activities, monitor verification processes, and resolve issues to ensure software integrity and reliability.
- Review product and process compliance with project plans and industry standards, tracking team and supplier performance for continuous improvement.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment and supporting professional development.
- Interface with various programming languages and development tools, including MATLAB, C++, Java, and DevSecOps tools like Git and CMake.
