Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer (VP Level) to join a high-performing Equities Engineering team responsible for modernizing a global trading platform used across capital markets. This is a unique opportunity to work on a major transformation initiative involving legacy modernization, cloud-native architecture, microservices, real-time messaging, and AI-assisted software development.

Rate: $84.00 to $94.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities
- Modernizing a 30+ year trading platform into a microservices-based architecture
- Building scalable Java/Spring Boot backend services
- Developing modern Angular-based user interfaces and dashboards
- Creating event-driven solutions using Kafka, MQ, and real-time messaging technologies
- Supporting cloud-native application development and deployment
- Collaborating with Product, Trading, Operations, and Engineering stakeholder
- Solving complex scalability, latency, resiliency, and performance challenges
- Leveraging AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude Code
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience
- Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework
- REST APIs & Microservices Architecture
- Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
- Kafka, IBM MQ, Tibco, or similar messaging technologies
- Oracle, SQL Server, or other relational databases
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- CI/CD, Git, DevOps practices
- JUnit, Jasmine, Karma, or equivalent testing frameworks
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support experience
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
