About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with our CTO, Denis Charrier, and the entire engineering team to build and operate large-scale, distributed systems that power our AI-ready web search platform. Your core responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure for indexing, retrieval, and monitoring. You will automate deployment processes, optimize system performance, and ensure high availability and reliability across all environments. Collaborating with machine learning and backend teams, you will streamline CI/CD pipelines and model deployment workflows, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations. Your expertise will directly influence our ability to handle vast data pipelines, index hundreds of millions of pages daily, and support real-time search and ranking performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI infrastructure and work on groundbreaking projects that redefine web search technology.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools
- Experience with performance optimization, system observability, and reliability engineering
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
- Knowledge of AI infrastructure, data pipelines, and large-scale retrieval systems is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex production issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate large-scale, distributed systems supporting AI web search
- Implement and maintain scalable infrastructure for indexing, retrieval, and monitoring
- Automate deployment, scaling, and observability processes across all environments
- Optimize system performance, resource utilization, and scalability
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to system design decisions
- Collaborate with ML and backend teams to streamline CI/CD workflows and model deployment pipelines
- Write clean, maintainable infrastructure code and participate in code reviews
- Develop and maintain robust observability and alerting systems for real-time performance monitoring
- Deploy and scale clusters indexing hundreds of millions of pages daily
- Set up auto-scaling pipelines to stream large volumes of embeddings while minimizing costs
- Automate retraining workflows for GPU-based models and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficiency
