About The Role
The Network DevOps Engineer at Hyatt plays a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining automated, scalable, and reliable network infrastructure. This position involves collaborating closely with the Global Network Engineering and Operations team to implement infrastructure-as-code, develop automation tools, and optimize network deployment and management processes. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in network automation, scripting, and DevOps practices to enhance Hyatt’s network capabilities across multiple locations and environments. Responsibilities include developing CI/CD pipelines, automating network device configurations, integrating automation with ITSM systems, and troubleshooting complex network issues. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects such as network modernization, SD-WAN deployment, and security enhancements, all while supporting Hyatt’s mission to provide exceptional service and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of network engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on network automation and DevOps practices
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and tooling development
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for device and configuration automation
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
- Proven ability to develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts including L2/L3, VLANs, STP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), WAN technologies, and network security
- Experience with multi-vendor network devices such as Cisco, Meraki, SilverPeak, etc.
- Familiarity with Linux systems, REST APIs, JSON/YAML, and CLI management of network devices
- Experience designing automated testing frameworks for network changes
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience supporting production networks
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical teams
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to automate network device provisioning and configuration management
- Build, test, and operate GitLab CI/CD pipelines to facilitate network automation, validation, and deployment processes
- Develop automation and orchestration tools using Python, Ansible, and Terraform to streamline network operations
- Implement automated testing frameworks to validate network changes at unit, integration, and system levels
- Create and maintain reusable automation libraries, templates, and modules suitable for multi-vendor environments
- Integrate network automation workflows with inventory systems, CMDB, monitoring, and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and automation issues, performing root cause analysis and corrective automation
- Develop and maintain documentation including runbooks, design documents, and change management artifacts
- Participate in cross-functional projects such as network modernization, SD-WAN rollouts, and security controls implementation
- Mentor and coach other engineers on automation best practices, testing methodologies, and Git workflows
