GCP Python Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a GCP Python Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize cloud-native data solutions supporting analytics, AI/ML, and enterprise reporting initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with experience building scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms on Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable batch and real-time data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
• Build ETL/ELT workflows using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub.
• Develop Python-based data processing and integration solutions.
• Design and optimize data warehouse, data lake, and analytics platforms.
• Support AI/ML and analytics use cases through high-quality data engineering practices.
• Automate workflows using Airflow and cloud-native orchestration tools.
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver enterprise data solutions.
• Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency of cloud data platforms.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of overall IT experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience.
• 3+ years of professional Python development experience.
• 2+ years of experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and/or Pub/Sub.
• Experience building production batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial Services experience preferred.
• Experience with Vertex AI, Gemini, LLMs, RAG, or Agentic AI frameworks.
• Experience with Spark/PySpark.
• Terraform or Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
