Database Platform Engineer
We are seeking an Database Platform Engineer to manage and support enterprise database environments across on-premises and Azure platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring database availability, security, performance, backup/recovery, and compliance while partnering with infrastructure, application, and data teams to support critical business systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across production, development, test, and disaster recovery environments.
- Monitor database health, performance, and availability; perform tuning, patching, and upgrades.
- Design and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Manage database security, access controls, and support SOX/IT audit compliance.
- Optimize query performance, indexing, and overall database scalability.
- Support application upgrades, migrations, integrations, and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and analytics teams, including support for the Microsoft Fabric environment.
- Maintain documentation and execute changes through established change management processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft SQL Server administration experience in enterprise environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and high availability.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production systems.
- Microsoft SQL certification preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- ERP platforms such as JD Edwards.
- PowerShell or T-SQL scripting.
- High availability/disaster recovery architectures.
- SOX or other highly regulated environments.
