For our client, we are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.
In this role, you will lead the design and optimization of data engineering solutions that support enterprise analytics and scalable reporting. You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reliable data pipelines, data models, and platform improvements. This position is well-suited for a hands-on technical leader who can strengthen data quality, improve performance, and guide engineering standards across the organization.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $128,200 – $133,500 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure technologies.
- Develop and optimize data processing solutions with Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Manage the technical implementation of data engineering projects from start to finish.
- Create and uphold dimensional data models for enterprise analytics.
- Enhance data pipelines and SQL scripts for large data volumes.
- Ensure data quality through comprehensive validation and monitoring.
- Collaborate across teams to convert business requirements into scalable solutions.
- Establish engineering best practices and maintain documentation.
- Participate in data architecture discussions for platform evolution.
- Provide technical leadership through reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or ETL/ELT development.
- Advanced SQL development skills with a focus on query optimization and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with Azure Data services including Azure Synapse and Databricks.
- Deep understanding of dimensional modeling and enterprise data warehouse principles.
- Experience in designing and supporting large-scale ETL/ELT solutions.
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database or SQL Server and Agile development.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
