For our client, we are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.
This role will focus on building and maintaining the data engineering workflows that support complex data migration and interoperability efforts. The Lead Data Engineer will partner closely with implementation and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, complete, and scalable data movement across systems. You will help resolve data quality issues, improve automation, and document processes that support reliable execution in a dynamic technical environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ETL workflows for migrating data from legacy electronic health record systems into the company's platform
- Create and manage Python and SQL scripts to support data import, migration, and automation processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data mappings and migration requirements
- Identify and resolve data gaps, defects, and transformation issues in inbound and outbound data
- Perform tasks related to electronic health information exports, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
- Use AI to improve productivity in data tasks while maintaining human oversight for quality assurance
- Document technical processes and validation steps for ongoing reference
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL, data migration, or a similar technical discipline
- Experience with ETL, SQL, and Python
- Familiarity with HL7 and FHIR interoperability standards
- Experience in healthcare data environments and working within implementation-focused teams
