Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated
System Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot IT systems and infrastructure. The System Engineer will work closely with development, network, security, and support teams to ensure systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and available.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, and maintain servers, operating systems, networks, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network, and system integration issues.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, backups, configurations, and deployments.
- Automate routine administrative and operational tasks using scripting and automation tools.
- Implement and maintain system security controls, access management, and security best practices.
- Support cloud infrastructure and services, including system configuration and monitoring.
- Collaborate with software developers and other IT teams to deploy and support applications.
- Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Perform root-cause analysis for system failures and recurring technical issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and system backup activities.
- Assist with capacity planning and recommend improvements to system performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support for production systems and participate in incident resolution.
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for improving infrastructure and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, infrastructure, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Experience with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing.
- Experience with virtualization and/or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of system monitoring, backup, security, and disaster recovery technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Ability to document technical solutions and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience with enterprise identity and access management.
- Experience with database administration or application infrastructure.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, AWS, Azure, Cisco, Linux, or VMware certifications.
