Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services serves iver 500,000 residents and intakes over 6,000 pets a year, in one of Louisiana’s most populous parishes, located in the greater New Orleans area. Role Description:

The Program Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater New Orleans, LA area, responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing JPAWS programs from initiation through completion. The role includes coordinating program activities, managing timelines and monitoring performance metrics, and preparing reports for leadership and stakeholders. The Program Manager collaborates with internal departments, external partners, and community members to ensure programs align with strategic priorities and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities also involve identifying risks, recommending process improvements, and ensuring effective communication across all program participants.

Qualifications:

• Program and project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring progress for multiple initiatives.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities to track performance data, and support decision-making.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams, leadership, and community stakeholders.
• Experience in public sector, municipal government, or community-based programs is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency with standard office software and animal inventory systems; ability to learn parish-specific systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced animal welfare environment.
