About The Role
In this contingent role, you will provide technical leadership and expertise across large-scale, complex software engineering initiatives. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate multi-dimensional engineering challenges, recommend strategic solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational policies, compliance standards, and business goals. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to consult collaboratively with client stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical consultation on complex, large-scale software engineering projects with significant organizational impact.
- Evaluate and interpret multi-faceted engineering challenges, including ambiguous, unprecedented, or intangible factors.
- Contribute to resolving complex issues by applying a solid understanding of engineering processes, governance, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Collaborate strategically with client partners to drive alignment on design decisions, architectural patterns, and long-term engineering strategies.
- Provide thought leadership in data architecture, cloud storage design, and scalable data modeling patterns.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience (consulting, military service, training, or education).
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing data lake architectures, including layered models (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
- Strong expertise in Google Cloud Storage (GCS) design principles such as bucket structure, naming conventions, lifecycle management, and IAM-based access controls.
- Hands-on experience working with columnar file formats (Parquet, Avro, ORC) and data compression strategies.
- Deep knowledge of data partitioning, large-scale data organization, and backfill strategies.
- Ability to design curated, analytics-ready data models for BI and reporting use cases.
