POSITION TITLE: MATERIAL HANDLER
The Material Handler pulls material for customer orders. This position must ensure all finished
goods are properly tagged and packaged as per customer specifications.
POSITION REPORTS TO: Site specific (Plant Superintendent, Shift Supervisor, Production
Manager and/or Warehouse Manager)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITIES:
Locate required material type and size
Package material per customer specifications
Perform quality check to ensure items have been pulled correctly
Inspect and band parts to be shipped
Ensure heat and tag numbers are correct
Stage material in route-specific order
Maintain safe work area
QUALIFICATIONS:
Product knowledge
Certified to operate a crane, forklift, and side-loader
Ability to use a tape measure, calipers, and micrometers
Ability to follow written instructions
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
High school diploma, training, and/or equivalent experience
REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Steel-toe safety shoes with metatarsal protection
Gloves
Hard hat when unloading trucks
Safety glasses
OTHER RELATED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work shifts mandated by management
Ability to pass drug test
