Akkodis is seeking a
Mainframe Developer for a
Contract with a client in
Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). You will design and develop end‑to‑end software solutions across both front and back‑end components, while ensuring reliable performance and stability of complex mainframe applications.
Rate Range: $70/hour to $80/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Mainframe Developer Job Responsibilities Include
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications across both online and batch environments using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and associated tools.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues, ensuring system stability, performance, and timely completion of daily workloads and batch schedules.
- Create high‑level software architecture designs and translate business requirements into scalable, tested software solutions across the full SDLC.
- Implement and enforce robust testing strategies, including test data management, masking, and end‑to‑end execution of test cycles to support business processes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product, design, architecture, operations) to choose appropriate technologies, refine requirements, and deliver user‑centric solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security and audit standards, safeguarding PII, managing credentials, and adhering to regulatory and internal governance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10 years of IT experience with at least 8 years in software development and strong practice in two coding languages (or advanced expertise in one).
- Proven hands-on mainframe development and support experience across COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and batch/online applications.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, maintain system performance, and ensure operational stability in 24/7 mainframe environments.

Pay Details: $70.00 to $80.00 per hour
