For our client, we are seeking a Technical Program Manager API Platform to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Pharmaceuticals & Biotech environment.
Location: San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $365,000 – $435,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Drive scaling and efficiency programs for the API stack from direction through execution
- Manage multiple large programs simultaneously across infrastructure and API layers
- Connect API, infrastructure, database, networking, and inference teams, tracking dependencies
- Clarify decision ownership and manage trade-offs among isolated workstreams
- Report risks, progress, and trade-offs to engineering leadership with appropriate context
Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical program management experience in delivering cross-functional programs
- Experience with API platforms and distributed systems, engaging effectively with engineering teams
- Background in driving scaling, performance, or efficiency for high-volume production systems
- Proven track record in managing cross-team dependencies and escalations
- Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple workstreams concurrently
- Ability to navigate and create order in unstructured environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing without authority
- Genuine interest in safe and reliable AI infrastructure operations
