About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our dynamic team remotely within the continental United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying software across all layers of the development lifecycle. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to technical decision-making processes. The developer will work independently on moderately complex projects, ensuring high-quality code that aligns with industry standards and company policies. A strong foundation in multiple programming languages, debugging, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with effective communication with stakeholders. The role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the technological landscape of FedEx Freight and support our mission to deliver excellence through innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in information technology or engineering
- Strong programming skills across multiple languages
- Proven debugging and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with software development best practices, including version control (Git), code reviews, and unit testing
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental US
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce development, including customization and configuration
- Proficiency in Java for backend development and system integrations
- Experience building responsive interfaces using React or Angular
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, including deployment and monitoring
- Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs
- Understanding of integration patterns and connecting Salesforce with external systems
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new technologies and grow technical expertise
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions across all phases of the development lifecycle
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following company standards
- Test and validate software to ensure functionality, performance, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions
- Evaluate code for industry standards compliance and compatibility with hardware and software environments
- Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed software and systems
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including managers, vendors, and user groups
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices into development processes
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational goals
