About The Role
We are seeking a talented mid-level Software Engineer (Engineer II) to join our dynamic team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software that directly interacts with our automotive service equipment. Your work will involve creating embedded firmware and software systems that communicate with hardware components, sensors, and control systems to ensure seamless operation of our machinery. You will collaborate closely with hardware, electrical, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust and reliable software solutions that enhance the functionality and performance of our products.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across the entire software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and system design to coding, testing, debugging, and ongoing support. You will apply established software engineering best practices while gaining expertise in complex systems and problem domains, contributing significantly to the success of our innovative product lineup.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Between 2 to 6 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering quality software solutions.
- Proficiency in C# / .NET / Visual Studio environments.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and bug-tracking tools; familiarity with Atlassian tools is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in embedded systems and firmware development, including working with hardware interfaces and sensors.
- Ability to work independently, manage full software development lifecycle, and troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and test embedded firmware and software applications for automotive service equipment such as tire changers, wheel balancers, and other machinery.
- Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting directly on physical machines to validate software functionality and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing phases, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Collaborate with hardware, electrical, and manufacturing teams to integrate software with physical components and ensure system reliability.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of software designs, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices to improve software quality and efficiency.
