About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Associate or Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in either St. Louis, MO, or Daytona Beach, FL. This role is pivotal in provisioning and managing complex lab environments both on-premises and in cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS. The successful candidate will be responsible for orchestrating automated integration testing across multiple program segments, managing deployment mechanisms for physical and virtual systems, and delivering actionable feedback to development teams to enhance product stability, performance, and cross-segment integration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of aerospace technology, leveraging cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipelines to support Boeing’s innovative projects.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or similar roles. Proven hands-on experience in provisioning and managing lab/test environments on-premises and in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS is essential. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates, and experience with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS) and container orchestration are required. Candidates should have strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch, along with a solid understanding of security best practices in cloud and DevSecOps environments, is also necessary. Preferred qualifications include relevant certifications (e.g., CKA, AWS DevOps Engineer), experience with GitOps workflows, and familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.
Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and maintain scalable lab environments on-premises and in cloud platforms utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible to ensure reliable and repeatable setups.
- Develop and oversee automated integration testing workflows that compile inputs from multiple program segments, providing comprehensive test coverage and timely feedback to development teams.
- Manage and optimize automated deployment pipelines for physical and virtual systems, ensuring smooth, consistent, and reliable software delivery processes.
- Implement processes for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to product stability, performance, and integration issues, facilitating continuous improvement across teams.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including development, QA, security, and physical lab teams—to align deployment strategies, testing requirements, and environment configurations.
- Incorporate security best practices into provisioning, deployment, and testing activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, or FedRAMP.
