About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our next-generation development pipeline. Your focus will be on creating robust environments, implementing automated quality gates, and developing internal tooling that ensures our engineering teams and AI agents can deliver validated, production-ready code with high confidence. The ideal candidate will work across cloud services such as EKS and core AWS offerings, integrating these with our CI/CD stack to develop scalable, reliable infrastructure. This position sits at the intersection of platform engineering and developer tooling, requiring close collaboration with architects and product teams to reduce friction in development workflows and expand automation coverage.
Qualifications
- 6–10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles managing production systems at scale.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS services including IAM, VPC, ECR, SSM/Secrets Manager, S3, SQS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience, preferably with Terraform, and familiarity with GitOps workflows using tools like Argo CD.
- Hands-on experience building ephemeral environments, developer tooling, or internal platforms such as CLIs, scaffolding tools, or developer portals.
- Expertise with load testing frameworks like k6, Locust, or Gatling, and automating performance gates within CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in creating mock or stub infrastructure for integration testing at scale, including containerized services and API mocking.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD processes using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools, including caching, parallelism, artifact management, and pipeline observability.
- Knowledge of release strategies such as canary deployments, blue-green deployments, and automated rollbacks, with experience in progressive delivery.
- Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog and OpenTelemetry, and ability to define SLIs/SLOs for delivery decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating platform constraints into developer-friendly solutions and comprehensive documentation.
- Experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, etc., integrated into infrastructure workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate ephemeral, pre-warmed development environments that can be spun up on demand by agents and engineers, ensuring environment parity with production.
- Enhance internal CLI tools (luxp) to facilitate rapid environment setup, including service discovery, dependency management, and local configuration automation.
- Develop and maintain automated pre-production quality gates, including load testing, performance benchmarking, and security scanning, to ensure deployment safety.
- Build containerized mock services from OpenAPI specifications to enable local validation of integration code against third-party dependencies.
- Implement Playwright-based UI validation within agent and CI pipelines to support iterative self-refinement and validation workflows.
- Create internal tooling, dashboards, and operational controls to improve pipeline observability, surface key metrics, and identify failure modes.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to expand automation coverage, reduce friction in validation processes, and improve overall deployment pipelines.
- Lead efforts to implement release strategies such as canary and blue-green deployments, and automate rollback procedures.
- Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs to ensure high system reliability and performance, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
