Position Overview
Benshaw is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented
Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production machinery to produce high-quality components for our motor control and industrial automation products. This role requires a strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machinery, tools, and equipment according to established procedures and production schedules.
- Monitor machine performance during operations, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Perform inspections of finished products to confirm compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Complete required production documentation, including work orders, inspection logs, and equipment checklists.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and report any equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance staff.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
- Cross-train in multiple areas of the manufacturing process to provide flexibility and support to the team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
- Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one preferred.
- Ability to stand, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
