What To Expect
Tesla Infrastructure Development Team is looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. The Structural Engineer will support engineering design and construction of new and retrofit Tesla infrastructure projects across North America and Latin America. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
What You'll Do
Serve as subject matter expert of the structural discipline within Infrastructure Development teamConduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, including validation and anchorage design for equipment and other non-structural componentsCreate and draft complete structural details, taking full design ownership from concept through constructionCollaborate with internal teams, including Design, Engineering, Real Estate, Construction, Tooling and FacilitiesCollaborate effectively with external consultants, third-party partners and vendors to ensure project successManage and review engineering deliverables and construction documents to ensure compliance with local codes and Tesla specific requirementsDevelop and improve standards, guidelines and workflows related to the discipline to ensure structural design is consistent and efficient across all Tesla projectsThink outside the box, make technical assumptions, apply engineering judgment, and challenge requirements
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience 2 - 5 years of work experience in commercial and industrial facilitiesEIT certification or completion of the FE exam. PE license is a plusExperience conducting structural analysis and design using both first principles analytical methods and structural software such as, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D, RAM and ENERCALCStrong knowledge of different structural systems, materials and construction processesFamiliarity with International Building Code, US and Canada National building codes and other Structural Design standardsProficiency in 2D/3D drafting software, such as Auto CAD and Revit
