Lucy Buffett's LuLu's is all about FUN! There are so many different elements that go into the experience at each of our restaurants- the fabulous food, great service, family-friendly environment, fun shopping, live music nightly, and waterfront ambiance- all in facilities designed to give you a taste of authentic Coastal Living. Our job is to make it look really easy and to give our customer permission to take a break from life for a while. Bottom line- it's all about food, fun and family!

Pros: I really value the work flexibility offered at LuLu's. As a Prep Cook, my shifts were often adaptable, which is a huge plus in the restaurant industry. The kitchen team is very supportive; we always help each other out, making the busy periods in North Myrtle Beach much smoother. There are always opportunities to learn new food preparation techniques, and the overall company culture among peers is friendly and welcoming. It's a stable job for someone with kitchen skills.
Cons: While work flexibility is great, sometimes communication around last-minute schedule changes could be clearer, especially during the peak tourist season. The workload for a Prep Cook can get intense when the restaurant is slammed, which is expected in hospitality, but better staffing during those times would really help. Also, opportunities for career progression within the Prep Cook role itself feel a bit limited, although I've learned a lot.
Advice to Management: Continue to foster the supportive team environment. Consider additional staffing or more consistent communication protocols during the incredibly busy summer months to better manage the workload and scheduling for kitchen staff.
