This is a hands-on craft role at the heart of King Living's research and development operation in Rayong — where your precision, your technical skill, and your eye for accuracy directly shape the quality of every piece of furniture that we create. You will work closely with design, product development and production teams to develop, refine and produce upholstery patterns that bring King Living's designs to life with consistency, accuracy and care.
The work requires genuine expertise — an understanding of materials both fabric and leather, sewing methods and fitting — and the kind of attention to detail that means you notice the difference between good and exceptional. What You Will Own
Pattern Development Develop, grade and produce accurate patterns for upholstered furniture components — ensuring every pattern meets King Living's design specifications, quality standards and production requirements.
Material Understanding & Optimisation Work with a range of fabrics and leather materials to ensure patterns are developed with fabric efficiency, grain direction and quality in mind.
Design & Production Collaboration Work closely with Design, Product Development and Production teams — translating design intent into production-ready patterns and providing technical input on sewing and fit throughout the development process.
Quality & Accuracy Conduct regular checks to ensure pattern accuracy and consistency across production runs — identifying and resolving discrepancies before they reach the production floor.
Documentation & Process Improvement Maintain accurate pattern records and documentation — and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce waste and lift quality standards across the pattern making function.
Who You Are
You will likely come from a pattern making, garment construction or upholstery background — ideally with experience in furniture, soft furnishings or a similarly precision-focused manufacturing environment. What matters most is your technical accuracy, your material knowledge, and your commitment to producing work that meets an exacting standard every time.
You are a detail-driven, technically skilled pattern maker who takes genuine pride in the accuracy and quality of every pattern you produce.
- Proven experience in pattern making, ideally within furniture, upholstery or soft furnishings manufacturing
- Strong understanding of fabric properties, grain direction and construction methods
- Accurate and methodical — you work to tight tolerances and notice when something is not right
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and design specifications is advantageous.
- Experience with styleCAD or equivalent is preferred. Experience with either manual or CAD-based pattern making tools is required.
- Collaborative team player who communicates clearly across design and production functions.
- Professional proficiency in English is advantageous for collaboration with the broader King Living team
- Candidates must be based in Thailand or willing to relocate to Rayong
Qualifications
- Pattern making qualification
- 2-5 years of experience in pattern making, advantageous if within furniture or related field.
