Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics and Communication Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or any engineer, networks, research/teaching, or related job titles. Skills must include: (1) 4G/5G Call Processing experience including RRC, S1-MME, S1-U and X2 protocols; (2) Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence; (3) 3GPP RAN product architecture, design & implementation; (4) system engineering activities including feature requirements identification, feature description documentation, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, problem troubleshooting; (5) RF antenna technologies & network optimizations; (6) protocol analyzers and simulation environments including MATLAB and test tools such as XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulator, Spectrum Analyzers; and (7) EN-DC network architecture, 5G Numerologies. 5-10% domestic travel required.

Position Summary

This Device Quality Manager role will be responsible for overseeing Samsung Mobile Products and providing Best-in-Class experience to our customers. This is a highly visible role and great opportunity to make a substantial impact on Samsung products. The DQM will define and implement processes for resolving issues and will be responsible for driving necessary resources for successful completion of resolution. These responsibilities will include specification working with internal quality assurance team, Korean Headquarters’ members, and customers for quality management and ongoing improvements.
Role & Responsibilities
Proactively evaluate products throughout its life cycle and drive higher standard of measurement
Identify fundamental risk of all products throughout the life cycle and drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external teams
Lead weekly quality meetings with partners and manage quality escalation issues
Manage on on-going quality issues and the effectiveness of corrective action items
Generate product quality plan and strategy for continuously improving performance at every levels
Provide regular Executive level communication of all products’ performance overview
Working closely with the customer in order to set up new model return for quality inspections and supporting R&D engineers to make a deep-dive analysis for EWP phones
Generating formal customer reports documenting and informing management of the results and issues found during early returned phone inspection and responsible for communicating with the internal department regarding product quality and working for continuous improvement in a timely manner
Skills and Qualifications
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor degree required, MS preferred (Engineering degree program concentration preferred but not required)
6+ years of experience in Quality Control; developing process quality plans, quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts
Working knowledge of product development, quality management, general manufacturing and service operations
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Fluency required in Korean and English (both spoken and written)
The ability to lift, move, or adjust general test equipment, boxes, supplies, materials or products weighing up to 50 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures
High level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction and moderate color distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information analysis and error recognition
High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform electronic component repair work
Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with electronic component test, assembly and repair work including test equipment, testing devices, technician hand tools, cables, etc.; first aid kit is available and prescription safety glasses are required in certain test areas.
15% travel domestic or international required (up to 2 times per year on average)
Additional Preferred Skill Areas and Qualifications:
Understanding of reverse logistics/customer service
Experience in statistical process control / FMEA applications
The ability to operate PC and product test equipment more than 75% of work time in an alternating sedentary and highly mobile position
The ability to development and maintain excellent working relationships with multiples levels within the company and with external contacts including customers, authorized service agents, sales & equipment service representatives, etc.
The ability to understand significant knowledge of circuit design of wireless handsets
The ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs and tables of information and to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments
The ability to read, writes, provide critical technical review and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures and technical product information
The ability to work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames
The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things

Perform system verification for Samsung 4G and 5G RAN Equipment including virtual EMS, vRAN. Perform system level feature integration testing and prepare detailed Test reports. Develop and perform test plans as well as troubleshoot and analyze problems in customer’s lab and production systems. Work on tools, and customer lab support. Aid in product and feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product and SW releases. Work with team members to prepare test plans/cases and execute to validate RAN CP/OAM functionality. Interface proactively with Product/Technology Engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Work closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross- functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product rollouts and developments.
