The Electrical System Engineer role will be responsible for the System Health of the plant, developing short to long term improvement plans, outage scope and defining the maintenance policy on their assigned systems. What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll carry out the following roles and responsibilities as a systems engineer:

Be a responsible engineer for Electrical plant areas and act as the technical conscience for the assigned systems.

- Gain expertise in the assigned system(s) and provide technical advice.
- Ensure important equipment is identified and that correct preventative maintenance programmes are in place to prevent unanticipated equipment failures.
- Manage activities that are to be carried out and completed with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and location directives, procedures and safety rules.
- Monitor and review system performance to identify degrading trends.
- Identify improvements on the assigned system(s) and work with delivery partners to make these happen
- Determine required actions and investments, including specifying, upgrading and deploying new components, systems and technologies.


Who you are

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will have a nuclear safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken, you will also need to maintain knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Liaising with peers in other engineering groups within the fleet you will be required to share best practises and to continually improve local and fleet performance.


- You will have an Electrical Engineering background with relevant experience in industry as an electrical engineer.
- As a minimum, entrants will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent) Candidates with a relevant Degree may have an advantage.

The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) faculty at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer or senior lecturer teaching-track position in the general humanities. Appointments will be made on an initial two- or three-year contract with the possibility of renewal. Many of our lecturers have taught for a decade or more at SUTD, and a number of our lecturers have been with our department since its inception.

Successful candidates will teach both original elective courses in their field of specialty, as well as sections in the team-taught Global Humanities first-year course. The teaching load for teaching-track faculty is 6.5 course credits per calendar year. During most years, this will equal a 3-3 teaching load with a small additional service component to fulfil the half credit. Salary compensation is internationally competitive, and includes relocation support, family pass sponsorship for dependent spouses and children, a monthly housing allowance, and an option to live in on-campus faculty housing for international faculty.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a humanities discipline, with a proven track record of effective teaching and research in the applicant’s field of specialty. Working with leading-edge Contactless Smart Card technology, your key challenge is to spearhead the evolution of the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system. Your job includes requirements gathering, design and development of a system to support AFC. You need to investigate reported issues and improve both individual AFC systems software and the overall AFC system. Additionally, you need to support AFC software rollout and deployment in the production environment. You should be good at analyzing problems and skilful in resolving issues pertaining to systems or software.

Job Responsibilities:

• Software Development
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining Java-based applications.
  • Contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Writing testable, scalable and efficient code.
  • Test and debug new applications and updates.
  • Maintain up-to-date code documentation.
  • Participating in code review
• Software Enhancement
  • Perform L3 support, including Software development and maintenance in terms of implementing enhancements and defect fixes.
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software for the production environment
• General Skills
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
  • Ability to own tasks and think critically during a crisis.
  • Willing to learn and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Requirements:

· Recognized Degree in IT/Computer Science or a relevant discipline.

· Work experience as a Java Software Engineer, Java Developer or similar role

· Experience building Java EE applications and familiarity with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)

· Good knowledge of popular Java frameworks like JSF and Spring MVC

· Candidate should be well versed in one or many of the following standard or enterprise skills:

• Enterprise Java Bean (EJB)
• J2EE framework
• XML, XQuery, XSL
• Linux/Unix Windows Platform and Solaris
• Oracle database SQL and JDBC
• Java XML Parsing, Coding
• Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Perl and Python
• I Text for RTF Generation
• Java-based Web services
• Java Servlet Technology

· Knowledge in Java, JSP/Servlet, Java Bean, JDBC, SQL, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. is an added advantage.

· Experience with test-driven development

· Knowledge in Database, Reporting Systems.

· Problem-solving skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Able to work independently and as a team.
