This position is located under the Office of Enforcement Programs and Services (EPS), National Firearms Act Division (NFA), located in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
This position serves as a Training Specialist in the Information Compliance Branch, National Firearms Act Division (NFA) of the Office of Enforcement Programs and Services (EPS), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with the position located at the National Service Center (NSC) in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The National Firearms Act Division (NFA) is responsible for the administration of the National Firearms Act, as amended, and regulations pursuant to the Act. The division acts on all applications to make, export, transfer and register NFA firearms; processes notices of NFA firearms manufactured or imported; amends the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record system, (NFRTR) as required.
Duties at the GS 7 level:
- Reviews and evaluates material for suitability, compliance with appropriate procedures and educational and training adequacy.
- Implements training plans, programs of instruction and lesson plans.
- Participates in task analyses for determining training requirements or in special staff studies of training and testing materials.
- Reviews procedures to ensure adherence to established guidelines.
Duties at the GS 9 level:
- Plans and Independently carries out training sessions within the prescribed course framework, resolving normal classroom problems and make outside contacts for supplemental information and materials.
- Develops training material and products according to the criterion-referenced instruction in training and education areas. i.e., programmed instruction, refresher and awareness training, and tests measurements.
- Develops lesson plans, practical exercises, and training test modules.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.
