Job Summary: The Health Information Technician is responsible for a variety of health information/medical records processes that must be completed in compliance with SFHS Policies/Procedures/Agreements, Federal, State, TJC, and other related Regulatory agencies.

Work Experience: 3 - 4 years related experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Retrieves, copies, processes, files, assembles, compiles, preps and scans various types of health information following all appropriate guidelines. Analyzes medical records, both inpatient and outpatient according to regulatory (State, Federal, TJC, CMS) and SFHS guidelines. Provides physician assistance in medical records completion; auditing physician completion activity and carrying out the physician record completion process as required by Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Responsible for processing and ensuring all information required for the registration of births, meeting all regulatory guidelines, including paternity requirements. Processes audit requests; referring and obtaining IRB approval for research requests. Provides assistance in the release of information (ROI). Processes physician and other health care organization requests for information, meeting all regulatory guidelines. Provides support to transcription importing reports, monitoring dictation work processes, distributing work as applicable; processes physician requests, processes advance directives. Monitors export and import of physician dictation and other processes and duties as assigned. Provides office and clerical support and performs other duties as required in any and all areas of health information, medical records, transcription.

Review, assess and process Safety data and information, across service lines, received from various sources and distribute reports/data onwards to both internal and external third parties following applicable regulations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal guidelines under guidance and support of senior operation team members.
Essential Functions
• The team member will have to perform medical review of non-serious adverse events (AEs) and non-serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs) which includes reviewal of AE coding, past medical history, concomitant medications, expectedness/ listedness, causality assessment and other medical information and ensure completeness and accuracy of data according to applicable regulations and guidelines, SOPs, project-specific guidelines, and medical evaluation guidelines and communicate with the team leads for any correction required in the case and maintain appropriate documentation for all communications.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will execute administrative and operational activities that are critical to the operation of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) activities for medical devices at one of SingHealth’s institutions and coordinate and support cybersecurity strategies.
