In this position, you will be an essential team member within the Finance & Central Services Division, which is central to the Anoka County mission component of fiscal responsibility.
This position is for you if you are contemplating a career in government, are a self-starter who likes to be challenged and who has excellent technical skills. Projects planned are around the budget process and data analytics. In addition, we are currently working on a Financial and Procurement system conversion. Other project opportunities may be available related to this project.
This is a temporary full-time, non-exempt, internship position is located at the Anoka County Government Center. The employment period for this internship will be flexible between May - August, 2024 and will provide up to 12 weeks of full-time, 40 hours of work. The purpose of the job is to act as a key member of the team responsible for the Group's consolidated management reporting to SSE's Board and Group Executive Committee. This includes the preparation of monthly management accounts, group forecast and budgets and other ad hoc reporting (including KPIs) in line with the Group financial calendar. As part of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring SSE's businesses apply a consistent approach to the internal reporting of financial information and for ensuring compliance with applicable Group policies and procedures.
The Internal Reporting team are also responsible for the governance of the Group's reporting structures and the role will have a specific focus on that aspect of the team's activities as part of the Group's digital finance transformation project. In addition, the Group Management Accountant will be expected to lead on continuous improvement process reviews and support the production of the Group's consolidated financial statements. This high profile role offers the holder excellent insight into the workings of a listed plc and requires liaison with Finance colleagues across SSE's businesses. The Group Management Accountant requires to work closely with senior colleagues including the CFO and Director of Group Reporting and will report to the Internal Reporting Manager.
