Financial Control Accountant
£35,000 to £45,000 pro-rata plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)

We're looking for a Financial Control Accountant to join our Federal Retail and Trading Services (FRTS) Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this role you'll work in a hybrid way - splitting your time between home and the office.
As a Financial Control Accountant at Co-op, we'll look to you to manage the financial controls for our supplier income by reviewing and approving contract documents and making sure process is adhered to. You'll work closely with our Finance Manager to manage supplier income and influence the commercial buying team to maintain and improve process with respect to supplier income.
We'll also look to you to support us with our new, exciting project designing new supplier income revenue streams in SAP to support our new membership proposition. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills working with well-known brands and gaining valuable exposure to SAP. SAP knowledge isn't required as we'll provide full training on this.
What you'll do
- Help us review processes and design new supplier income revenue streams for SAP implementation
- Review supplier agreements, challenging and influencing the commercial teams to make sure they meet audit requirements for end of year
- Make recommendations on accounting treatment for income recognition and that these are in line with our policies
- Work closely with both internal and external audit
- Build positive relationships with colleagues in the business to highlight and resolve any issues with supplier contracts or buying approval documentation
- Support with specific projects with relation to SAP launch and implementations
This role would suit people who have
- An accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) or working towards one
- Experience of working with audits
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and teams across the business
