Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Finance & Management of Utility Helicopter
Minimum 15 years of aviation management experience in the utility helicopter field. Minimum 8000+ flight hours, including 3000+ flight hours of vertical reference experience in heavy helicopters. FAA ATPLH required.
Roles & Responsibilities
Actively involved in operational service delivery whilst overseeing and managing the Company’s day-to-day operations across SE Asia.
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Summary
Candidate must have a current unrestricted FAA ATPLH and proven global long-line vertical reference flying with 8000 plus flight hours and be a senior command pilot endorsed on Airbus Helicopters AS-332 and Sikorsky S61 aircraft.
Candidate must have corollary tertiary finance/accounting qualifications together with a demonstrated track record of management expertise with a strong focus on Finance, Aircraft operations & leasing, Personnel management, Safety, Legal & IT development and implementation.
Responsible for the Company’s safe operations, activities and policies. Responsible for directing and managing the Company’s diverse team throughout SE Asia. Lead for ensuring compliance with FAA/DGCA/CAAM for the company aircraft, personnel and their ongoing certification and compliance. Will be expected to demonstrate and conduct aerial fire fighting operations with a minimum 200’ long line
SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Aviation
- FAA ATPLH holder with Command AS332, S61 and related endorsements;
- Minimum 15 years of operational experience flying twin turbine heavy-lift helicopters with emphasis on vertical reference operations in; forestry, construction, fire suppression, asset recovery and related aerial delivery scenarios;
- Senior Command Pilot of the Company’s S61 and AS332 aircraft as required;
- Vertical reference operational experience minimum 1000 hours aerial fire fighting in heavy helicopters (>12,500 lbs max T/O weight)
Management
- At least 10 years of demonstrated experience managing a comparable aviation company;
- Oversee the Company’s day-to-day operations across SE Asia;
- Work in collaboration with the CEO to create, develop, implement and reinforce the Company’s vision and mission;
- Effective leadership and management skills to maintain a highly diverse, dispersed and functional team;
- Evaluating the work of staff within the Company and assisting with recruiting new staff as necessary;
- Develop and implement operational policies;
Finance
- Master or Degree in Economics / Accounting or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution;
- Oversee and manage the Company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing in conjunction with Executive staff;
- Together with the CEO monitor expenditure, analyse budgetary forecasts and set targets and forward estimates;
- Interface with the Company’s external Accountants, Auditors and Financiers.
Legal & Regulatory
- Intimate working knowledge of the various domestic and foreign regulatory processes and systems applying to the Company’s international aviation operations;
- Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
Marketing, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicating, on behalf of the Company, with stakeholders, government entities, and related organisations;
- Working with the Company’s customers and team members to ensure timely, professional service delivery;
- Build alliances and partnerships with relevant organisations;
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills;
- Ensure that marketing and communications support company goals brand and aspirations;
- Attention to detail. Ability to: maintain a good relationship with all stakeholders to interact with all levels within the Company to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
- Superior conflict-resolution skills.

OTHER INFORMATION
- Mon to Fri (0800 –1800)
- From May to November may spend up to 28 days touring operational bases, followed by equivalent time off.
- Office Location: CBD, WFH and SE Asian locations as required.
- Salary up to SGD equivalent of USD10,000 p/m plus operational expenses as applicable.
