Job Description

SIA has multiple positions for junior and senior data scientists to drive our AI, data science and business analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Member of an in-house AI and data science development team that works on AI (including areas in generative AI, autonomous agent, NLP, computer vision and recommender system), mathematical optimization, game theory, and experimental design.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to create impactful and intelligent features/services in AI, data science and data analytics. Propose and build scalable ML/DL solutions. Deploy them as API microservices for use by software applications and business users for faster and more effective decision making.
• Oversee the technical work of external technology partners and provide them datasets to deliver products/services in AI and data science. Support business users in the assessment/ validation of partner-supplied prediction models and in their deployment to production cloud.
• Work closely with application development teams to operationalize and integrate AI/ML capabilities in API microservices.
• Note: You could be posted to any subsidiary in SIA Group.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related discipline is required. PhD and MS degrees related to machine learning and other AI disciplines are preferred.
• Intermediate programming skills in Python. Conversant with algorithm design/analysis, data structure and SQL. Familiarity with functional/object-oriented software development using modern programming languages such as Scala, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java and C# is a plus.
• Exposure in the use of workflow/map-reduce and stream processing systems such as Spark and Kafka for big-data processing.
• Relevant internship or industry experience as a hands-on data scientist/AI engineer in shallow and/or deep learning (you should be very comfortable with most topics covered in the free undergraduate textbook by Gareth James, “An Introduction to Statistical Learning – with Applications in Python”, 2023). Additional exposure in some of the following areas is a plus:

1. Use of recent proprietary/open-source LLMs through prompt engineering (such as OpenAI ChatGPT and Bing Chat). Familiarity with LLM application/data frameworks (such as LlamaIndex and LangChain).
2. Experience of using GPU-accelerated deep learning frameworks (such as PyTorch and TensorFlow).
3. Familiarity with Bayesian statistics/inference and Bayesian/causal networks for probabilistic reasoning.

• Some hands-on experience of AWS, Azure, GCP or other public cloud environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for working with both technical staff and non-technical business users.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage End User IDs in the Joiner, Mover and Leaver process
• Manage End user access and permissions and how they are identified and the roles they are then assigned.
• Manage the systems, information, and other areas protected by IAM.
• Ensure the correct levels of protection and access for sensitive data, systems, information, and locations (Department levels) are permissioned.

Seeking highly motivated individual to support interdisciplinary research projects that seek to find effective ways in shifting community behaviours towards climate positive actions and better population health, through design ethnographic studies, data analytics, community design and urban planning. The candidate should have relevant university degree and/or experience in architecture/planning/social science/data science. Trans-disciplinary candidates are preferred.

Job scopes include combination of the followings:

1. Design ethnographic research, including planning, coordinating and facilitating community engagements, qualitative and quantitative data collection, and fieldwork.
2. Data analytics to derive people-environment correlation, community needs, behavioural motivations, and community design strategies.
3. Urban design & development, by translating data into community programs and urban design (3D modelling, AI-enabled tools, drawing, detailing, digital fabrication).
4. Research administration and project management, publicity and communication, coordinating with collaborators/ stakeholders/vendors.
5. Research documentations, presentations and writings.

We are looking for candidate that demonstrates:

1. Solid operational skills, with the ability to work and deliver tasks independently and proactively 2. Strong interest in participatory design, community engagements, and strategic planning
3. Creative in design and experienced in content management, visual communications, and writing. (Creativity in architectural/urban design, representation and presentation is preferred)
4. Technical skills such as basic programming, data analytics and 3D modelling will also be an advantage

We need to hire a researcher for Znic ion battery electrolyte development. The researcher will need to have rich experience in the relevant field and familar with the experimental tools. For example, the usage of electrochemical testing station and all the material charaterization tools. It is prefered that he or she participate in znic ion battery projects pervious. The required skills include the characterization of samples, battery assembling and testing, device evaluation and so on.

It will be good if the researcher has previously worked in a chemical or electrochemical lab and conducted research in such environment. Critical skills including hydrothermal synthesis of samples, FESEM, XRD, Raman and so on will be important for this field. He/she should also have a strong understanding of research collaborations and able to work with team members from diverse backgrounds.

Job Title: Postdoctoral Scholar (Digital fabrication of Sustainable Materials)

Scope of the Research:

This research program intends to develop design principles, fabrication methods, and instruments to synthesize and pattern sustainable materials derived from biomass. We combine additive manufacturing, microfluidics, and in situ physio-chemical reactions to achieve unprecedented control over the function and structures consisting of biomass-derived materials.

We will adapt interdisciplinary approaches to investigate the digital fabrication of sustainable materials. The recovery and recycling of the materials are also explored. The researcher will work in an interdisciplinary research team consisting of electrical, chemical, and biomedical engineers, chemists, and materials scientists.

Qualification, Skills, and Experiences:

• Ph.D. in chemistry, materials sciences, polymer engineering, and/or related fields
• Experiences in biomass-derived materials
• Experiences in digital fabrication (3D printing, laser cutting, fluid dispensing)
• Experiences in the design and manufacturing of scientific instruments
• Experiences in microfluidics, microfabrication
• Experiences in CAD, 3D drawing, and modeling
• Good track record of scientific publications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement an intrusion detection system (IDS) specifically for monitoring and securing the IT-OT interfaces within power grid environments.
• Capture, decode, and analyze network traffic in the IT-OT domain of the ICS to detect and respond to potential security threats.
• Develop and refine algorithms and methods for detecting anomalous behavior or unauthorized access within the network.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and network teams to integrate the IDS into the existing security infrastructure and workflows.
• Conduct continuous monitoring and periodic testing of the IDS to ensure its effectiveness and to update its capabilities in response to emerging threats.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to the IDS, including system design, configuration, and operational procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and advancements in intrusion detection technologies to recommend improvements to the IDS.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Proficient in Python programming with demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining software solutions.
• Solid understanding of computer networks, including network architectures, protocols, and security measures.
• Experience with network analysis tools, with a preference for candidates familiar with Wireshark.
• Knowledge of Industrial Control System (ICS) protocols such as IEC 61850, MODBUS, and Ethernet/IP (ENIP) is highly beneficial.
