Technical Manager
The Technical Manager, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, is responsible for the overall management and coordination of CAE resources (maintenance and support personnel), budget and operational maintenance requirements of the training devices under their control. About the role
In this role, your responsibilities will include working as part of the Cultured Therapies team at BiomeBank to help support the laboratory to drive drug discovery and work on developing new microbial therapeutics. Your key responsibilities will include:
Regular processing of stool samples for anaerobic culturing and next generation sequencing within a PC2 laboratory
- Working in an anaerobic chamber for extended periods of time
- Bulk preparation of media, plates and reagents for microbial culturing
- Inoculation and isolation of microbial colonies, confirmatory tests on microorganisms, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA quantitation, preparing samples to send for next generation sequencing
- Biochemistry methods for testing microbial cultures
- Recording findings and analysing results
Ordering and performing stocktake of laboratory consumables
Calibration and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment
