Responsibilities
- Lead a focused team consisting of Product, all Tooling PEs and AQP to support product development, ensuring robust product design and low and high volume manufacturing capabilities. Identify limitations of proposed design and recommend improvements to meet DFM and testing guidelines for successful launch of new products. Provide feedback on critical process dimensions and product characteristics.
- Provide program leadership for new product development. Plan, operate and control activities related to new product development to meet customer requirements. Lead project teams in transforming opaque data into actionable projects. (Requires coordination across multiple sites: MX-Lisle/MXS/MXDG/MXCD/MXSH).
- Implement and manage projects from inception to preparation for mass production. Ensure timely project completion, including quality of tooling, parts and customer specific sample requirements.
- Develop manufacturing strategies for new products and drive tooling development to meet customer expectations for optimal quality, cost and lead time. This involves working with product, marketing, finance and senior management to analyze multiple scenarios using GCA to come up with optimal solutions.
- Support project cost calculations to provide GCA technical data, and assist in recommending cost-effective manufacturing strategies; Identify opportunities to reduce costs and lost productivity. Monitor GCA compared to reality at launch; related to Capex, revenue, volume, realization rate. Work on new cost reduction/savings initiatives to maximize value creation and be competitive.
- Responsible for ensuring that key technical review meetings and component purchasing meetings are completed in a timely manner according to new product development plans. Work with QA, QAP and Manufacturing/Tooling Design engineers on quality issues for initial project launch.
- Monitor and track progress of assigned projects - status/progress/investment. Increase barriers to settlement.
- Support factories in enhancing new products as well as expanding capacity or transferring products.
- Manage the product portfolio assigned by supervisors and continuously increase product costs. Be competitive by undertaking cost reduction activities. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in project planning preferred or candidates with strong manufacturing experience.
- Leadership - To lead and drive cross functional teams (Includes all tooling, sourcing, PM, design, PJM). Drive to meet Customer needs in a timely manner. Project management skills to set goals.
- Technical Expertise - DFM for high volume production. Understanding of connector manufacturing process and strong in business details. Basic understanding of costing
