It’s an exciting time to be joining Citi and the Institutional Credit Management Business. This First Line role would ideally be suited to someone working in the capacity of a Risk Approver, Coverage Banker, Transactor or Product Specialist covering Structured Trade Products such as Export Credit Agency Finance and Receivable Transactions. If you are currently in any of these roles or have had experience in these roles, worked in these teams or similar business areas, then you should apply.
Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the credit approval process. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over transaction approval.
Responsibilities:
Work with Bankers, Product Partners and Underwriters in underwriting requests for credit extensions for new and existing clients,
Perform detailed financial analysis on companies, including trend and ratio analysis, and interpret the financial information
Perform collateral analysis on accounts receivable, inventory, machinery and equipment and real estate in order to evaluate collateral performance and changes in trends, as well as to assess repayment capacity based on secondary sources of repayment.
Build a solid understanding of Citibank products and services within Trade, Banking and the broader organization.
Perform industry, portfolio, geographical research and other due diligence as needed.
Be familiar with Citibank credit policies and practices and regulatory policies, to assist unit in achieving compliance with the above and satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
Provide training for less experienced credit officers and other credit center staff in application processing, credit analysis and loan closing roles.
Provide backup to the team manager in workflow distribution and monitoring as needed.
Recommend changes to process to achieve greater efficiency.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
Relevant years of experience at a senior level.
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (preferred) - previous experience working in a financial institution with additional experience in a loan officer or underwriting role. (credit trained a plus)
Advanced analytical skills including the ability to read and assess company financial statements, cash flow, industry and competitive analysis and projections
Demonstrated knowledge of intermediate accounting theory and its practical application in the credit underwriting process
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner

The role of Citi’s Institutional Credit Management (ICM) function is to provide integrated, end-to-end, management of wholesale credit and counterparty risk within the first line of the bank. Wholesale Credit Risk In-Business Quality Assurance is an integral part of the ICM organization.
The Wholesale Credit Risk In-Business Quality Assurance function (In-Business QA) verifies that established Standards and Procedures for Wholesale Credit Risk management are followed and consistently applied across first line of defence. WCR In-Business QA staff are independent of the activities performed by WCR first line businesses that they review. This is a new and exciting banker role that has come on back of strong growth of the Industrials team in the CCB UK. Role will report to CCB UK Head of Industrials, will be hybrid / based out of London (Canary Wharf), and focussing on Industrials corporates that are publicly listed / privately owned / and also sponsor owned.
This position requires an experienced banker capable of driving business independently, as it will have a heavy emphasis on new business development and market leadership. Primary responsibilities will be to build their own portfolio by acquiring new to bank relationships, representing CCB UK in the external market and manage some existing client relationships.
Successful candidate should have proven solid track record in acquiring new business and client relationship skills and an ability to call at the CEO/CFO level. Strong corporate finance, credit, and transaction execution skills are required. Corporate / Commercial Banking, alongside leverage finance experience, is preferred, with good knowledge of Investment banking products. Prior banking experience in the UK and understanding of the Industrials sector and leverage finance market is preferred, with strong knowledge and connections in the UK market.
