Job Summary:

This role involves working as part of the APAC Finance team where you will be reporting to the AVP, APAC Finance to support Allied World Australia Branch operation. The responsibility of this role ensures finance operation and reporting function follow the Group reporting requirements.

Job Duties:

· Ensure incoming receipts are applied timely and accurately in the systems.
· Work with Credit Control, Account Managers and external customers to resolve disputes to get unallocated receipts to an acceptable level.
· Responsible for monthly updating and reconciling of cash book.
· Prepare/review month-end closing activities in relation to Group reporting.
· Support balance sheet reconciliations and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
· Handle queries or requirements from other business functions, management and auditors
· Assist AVP, Finance closely in driving forward enhancements and process improvements to ensure the effective and efficient control - provide inputs for continuous improvement, also look for opportunities to streamline and enhance the same processes by way of possible automation.
· Support AVP, Finance and other business functions through providing finance-related input to help with decision making, including internal/external audits and the preparation and review of all reporting requirements.
· Collaborate with various stakeholders to discuss and resolve issues.
· Undertake projects on an ad-hoc basis to ensure necessary finance-related requirements are met.

Essential Requirements:

· Degree in Accountancy or Finance. US GAAP experience preferred
· 3-5 years experience in the Insurance industry, preferably non-life insurance
· Excellent knowledge of accounting rules and regulatory requirements
· Ability to be hands-on, to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
· Excellent PC skills with a good working knowledge of Excel
· Good communication/interpersonal skills and detail oriented
· Keen awareness of latest financial accounting environment and insurance regulations and able to analyze the impact of these changes to the organization

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for handling allocated cases on the Involved Line(s) of Business assigned following the established standards, procedures and guidance to deliver excellent customer services.

Involved Line(s) of Business
Casualty including Schemes and Packages (Commercial and Personal Lines)

Job Duties:

• Investigate, evaluate and resolve assigned claims including non-standard within designated personal authority level, in line with established standards, procedures and guideline provided.
• Conduct pro-active settlement through appropriate negotiation including instruct and collaborate with counsel regarding litigation strategy and claim resolution.
• Identify and investigate suspicious / fraudulent claims under supervision.
• Manage customer/intermediary interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
• Organize and use approved internal and/or external suppliers to ensure appropriate and timely services are provided to customers.
• Identify non-standard or complex claims and escalating to supervisor to ensure they are handled appropriately.
• Provide guidance and assistance to claims associates when necessary.
• Support more experienced colleagues in the handling of non-standard cases.
• Assist in preparation of reports or analysis where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and policy requirements internally and externally.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as warranted including ad-hoc projects.

Essential Requirements:

• Relevant academic qualifications with a minimum of 3-4 years solid claims handling experience in the Involved Line(s) of Business.
• Preferably a holder or in progress of professional insurance qualification such as ANZIIF or ACII or meet minimum local mandatory qualification requirement such as Certificate of General Insurance (“CGI”) from the Singapore College of Insurance.
• Apply planning, prioritization and organizational discipline in managing workload and focused on priorities
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and analytical ability.
• Possess strong negotiation skills and attention to details.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for underwriting a diverse book of business by employing the methods necessary to meet projected profitability, GWP and expense goals. The role supports the growth of the overall portfolio of business within the appropriate underwriting discipline/guidelines, marketing and servicing of existing and potential clients.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for general underwriting functions including submission reviews, pricing analysis, setting of terms and conditions.
• Performing extensive account analysis according to underwriting guidelines, including thorough review of underwriting application and submission, research, requested terms and conditions, underlying policy forms and wordings and liaising with other departments to establish full understanding of risk exposures.
• Performing insurance technical risk analysis including rating models, NATCAT models and policy wording.
• Taking an active role in the development of business in Asia and Asian interests abroad, exploring opportunities and marketing predominantly out of Singapore and Hong Kong.
• Proactively identifying and pursuing upselling (add-ons) and cross selling opportunities to maximise profitable revenue potential from new and renewal business and achieve agreed business targets.
• Liaising with Claims Department on any specific claim activity and overall market claim concerns which could potentially affect profitability.
• Delegating (and supervising) of work to Underwriting Operations Assistants or Assistant Underwriters as appropriate.
• Supporting the departmental Regional Head in setting strategic goals, setting budgets and producing regular Management Information.
• Maintaining underwriting files in an orderly and consistent manner and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Engineering degree (civil or mechanical) with insurance qualifications (ACII, ANZIIF etc) would be an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in underwriting major construction projects, with expertise and in-depth working knowledge of standard market wordings, endorsements and relevant experience in Asian markets.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with and present to stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
• Strong marketing and business development capabilities with commercial acumen to influence and negotiate with different stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and proficiency in MS Suite are essential.
• Self-motivated and well organised; result driven and a good team player.

Job Summary:

Catastrophe Analysts play a critical role within our business. You will be responsible for monitoring Allied World’s exposures against perils and natural catastrophe scenarios across the Asia Pacific region, using catastrophe models and aggregation software.

Reporting to the Senior Catastrophe Analysts in Singapore, and the Global Head of Insurance Catastrophe Modelling, you will work closely with our underwriting departments, running reports, analyzing highly complex data sets, and supporting the handling of data errors and inconsistencies, to optimize company growth and maximize business opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing quality assurance checks against all account statements of value
• Interpreting policy structure, code policy and location information data as required per line of business
• Making sound modelling assumptions across several classes of business, to include Property, Marine and Construction
• Interacting with underwriting teams to obtain complete and timely exposure data for catastrophe modelling purposes, and providing feedback on pricing and exposures
• Modelling accounts pre-bind as required to produce average annual loss and exposure summaries on an individual deal basis
• Maintaining control record information for all bound business
• Tracking exposures in high-hazard catastrophe areas to provide timely information to local management
• Producing monthly portfolios and PML reports for use in consolidated corporate roll-up
• Performing necessary catastrophe analysis to respond to regulatory questionnaires and other ad-hoc queries

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirement:

• Educated to Bachelor-Degree level, preferably in Science, Computing, Mathematics, or other related discipline.
• Candidates considered either at graduate level or with up to 3 years of experience in Data modelling (within either insurance or reinsurance environment).
• Knowledge in the operation of vendor modelling catastrophe software (such as AIR, RMS), if candidate has working experience beyond graduate level
• Knowledge of SQL and Programming language like Python etc. and experience with handling large datasets
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Access), computer programming skills
• Capable of working to tight deadlines and prioritizing effectively
• Experience working with groups in a changing environment and possessing ability to learn and adapt quickly
