De novo genome assembly has been one of the most challenging problems in genomics. However, with development of new long read sequencing technologies, new assemblers and manually curated high quality benchmarks including CHM13, HG002 and I002C assembling most of human chromosomes T2T has become a routine task.

This project will focus on a more challenging task, assembling of human cancer genomes which are especially difficult due to cancer genome heterogeneity. Using the fact that we can reconstruct normal tissue genomes routinely we aim to reconstruct cancer genomes.

• Maintain and develop cellular models, including mammalian cell culture and advanced systems such as stem cell–derived models and organoids

Project Overview

The DiSTAP programme addresses deep problems in food production in Singapore and the world by developing a suite of impactful and novel analytical, genetic and biosynthetic technologies. DiSTAP is one of the five Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).  The research engineer will join an interdisciplinary team of chemists, engineers and plant biologists in the development, modification and characterization of functional conjugated polymers with unique optical properties that could potentially be used for cell imaging. Asian Thoracic Oncology Research Group (ATORG) is the coordinating platform for translational research in Asia. Its mission is to advance medical knowledge of lung cancer and improve health outcomes of patients through clinical studies and scientific events. ATORG operates under National Cancer Centre Singapore.

We are looking for a Research Fellow who will provide critical support in the design, writing, and operational documentation of multi-country investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and translational oncology studies under the ATORG platform. The NCCS Division of Medical Oncology is looking for 4 Research Coordinators to join the BREXINT study team: Breast Cancer Exercise Intervention, a nationwide randomized study examining the effect of prescribed exercise (versus control) on cancer recurrence and survival in early breast cancer patients, as well as the behavioural tools that help make exercise a habit.
