Reporting to Shift Supervisor, this position will execute and maintain manufacturing process operations by performing routine shift activities to ensure the production process strictly follows company safety standards and local environmental regulations, and product quality is within customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Support Shift Supervisor in handling plant commissioning, start-up, shutdown and production activities
• Support production, quality control and maintenance operations to meet production schedules, quality and cost objectives. Production activities include performing in-process quality testing, product sample collection, plant patrolling & data logging, catalyst preparation, equipment preparation for maintenance and loading & unloading of process solvents, property analysis etc.
• Carry out routine checks to ensure safe operation and optimal performance of manufacturing process and equipment
• Operate the DCS and other plant equipment in accordance to SOP
• Perform lab analysis for in-process products
• Perform emergency response in areas of firefighting, rescue and loss containment
• Perform housekeeping in the process area
• Uphold safety standards of the company
• Provide training and guidance to junior technicians

Requirements:

• NITEC or Higher NITEC in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Technology or Diploma in Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the petrochemicals industry
• Entry level candidates without experience are welcome to apply with us
• Experienced candidates with more years of related experience may be considered for the Senior Process Technician position
• Experience in DCS operation, boiler operation and CERT will be advantageous
• Self-motivated and effective team player with good communication skills

Job Requirements:

• NITEC, Diploma, or an equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in a quality control or laboratory environment within the chemical manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Experience operating laboratory equipment such as Gas Chromatographs (GC), Differential Scanning Calorimeters (DSC), Autotitrators, and Karl Fischer Titrators is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various inspection tasks according to the laboratory schedule.

• Perform dimension measurements of three-coordinate, projector, height gauge, etc. according to the requirements of the drawings and issue reports.

• Perform dimension measurements of process start-up parts and process inspection parts according to the requirements of the inspection work instructions and feedback the results.

• Responsible for annual product dimension inspection and reporting.

• Responsible for the implementation of 5S in the measurement room.

• Regularly inspect the measuring equipment and monitor the ambient temperature and humidity as required.

• Promptly escalate any non-conforming items or equipment issues to superiors.

• Summarize and archive various records and reports.

• Participate in the annual review of measuring tools and the provision of MSA data.

• Participate in the acceptance of measurement auxiliary tooling and process inspection tools.

• Perform any additional tasks as assigned by Reporting Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Materials, or a related field.

• Candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered without a formal diploma.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in CMM operation.

• At least 2 years of experience in measuring injection-molded parts.

• Knowledge of GD&T and able to quickly read the drawings, understand the measurement requirements and measure according to the drawings.

• Able to independently write CMM programs and operate three-coordinate measuring machines, and those who know Wenze or Zeiss three-coordinate measuring machines are preferred.

• Able to use Three-coordinate CMM, FARO joint arm measuring instrument, projector, height gauge, roughness meter, micrometer, plug gauge, etc.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Willing to travel overseas for training as required.

• Willing to work flexible shifts as required by operational needs.
