Role and Responsibilities

The Associate Business Analyst provides analytical support for the development of technology solutions that meet business needs. He/She partners with stakeholders to identify, clarify, and document business requirements. He/She assists with the assessment of the viability and effectiveness of solution options that can meet business needs. He/She facilitates communication between business and technology teams. 

He/She has a passion for learning and is comfortable exploring and analysing data. He/She also adopts a structured and systematic approach to analysing business processes and solving problems.

Critical Work Functions and Key Tasks 

Business Analysis Planning & Strategy

'Assist the BA leads in the planning of business analysis approach by defining the methods, techniques and tools to be used for business analysis

Prepare governance deliverables to track status, risks, changes and issues pertaining to day-to-day management of all functional areas of system/data product analysis

Contribute in the preparation of the stakeholder communication plan

Requirements Analysis & Design

Liaise with internal and/or external stakeholders to identify system/data products requirements

Provide analysis to support the development of business cases

Support user requirement analysis through information collection

Support the analysis of business requirements and feasibility studies of possible solutions

Prepare requirements specifications and solution proposals

Contribute to the identification of a range of solution options

Requirements Lifecycle Management

Prepare Requirements Traceability Matrix

Collaborate with developers to ensure requirements are incorporated into system design and implementation

Function as the liaison between users and technical staff throughout the solution implementation cycle

Contribute to identification of solution change risks

Prepare training materials and conduct user training to facilitate adoption of new systems, where necessary

Facilitate System Integration Testing by coordinating the development teams of various integrations

Work with relevant stakeholders on user acceptance testing 

Validate test results ensuring they are in alignment with the requirements and achieving desired outcomes

Support the development of test cases and test data, where necessary

Carry out testing including SIT, UAT, pre-go live and post go live testing to ensure that the IT solution is built in accordance to the requirements, where necessary

Solution Evaluation

'Assist in the assessment of solution options for suitability

Contribute in the formulation of solution recommendation

Evaluate the ability of an existing system/data products to support proposed changes

1.Corporate Actions Domain & BAU Support

- Act as the subject‑matter expert for Corporate Actions applications within the assigned business vertical, maintaining detailed knowledge of system architecture, interfacing systems, data flows, and data content.

- Support user communities on daily BAU activities by responding to business queries and providing guidance on optimal system usage.

- Ensure Corporate Action events are processed accurately and within agreed timelines, in compliance with market requirements and internal standards.

2. Client Servicing & Controls

- Ensure timely and accurate client notifications for voluntary Corporate Action events (e.g. rights issues, dividend options, warrant expiry, redemptions).

- Ensure correct capture and execution of client instructions and safeguard client entitlements throughout the event lifecycle.

- Handle client and stakeholder enquiries professionally and promptly, maintaining a consistently high standard of service quality.

3. Testing & Delivery Governance

- Define and recommend appropriate testing strategies, sign‑off criteria, and obtain stakeholder concurrence.

- Lead and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning, timelines, batch runs and re‑runs, and consolidation of testing outcomes.

- Ensure test issues and defects are tracked, resolved, and validated prior to deployment.

4. Documentation & Governance

- Prepare and maintain high‑quality documentation on data flows, solution design, business logic, and testing approach, in accordance with predefined templates and governance standards.

- Ensure strong controls, auditability, and knowledge continuity are embedded into delivered solutions.

Requirements

- Strong domain experience in Corporate Actions processing, covering mandatory and voluntary events.

- Hands‑on experience in system testing (SIT/UAT/regression) within a banking or financial services environment.

- Good understanding of end‑to‑end processing, system integrations, and data flows.

- Proven ability to work closely with Technology teams, project stakeholders, and operations users.

- Strong documentation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

- Demonstrates a risk‑aware mindset with focus on quality, controls, and client outcomes.

The Opportunity

Role:

As the business partner, this role holds accountability for driving the overall financial strategy and attaining financial and operational excellence for the Enterprises and Government Business unit. This includes forecasting and budgeting to ensure effective financial management, as well as analyzing and compiling Go-To-Market (GTM) plans.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in strategic business planning and budgeting exercises for Enterprises and Government.

• Capable of managing and analyzing large volumes of data. Familiarity or experience with Salesforce, PowerBI and Tableau is preferred.

• Experience in budgeting and driving accurate management reporting and analysis for key business decisions

Work you’ll do

Conduct client due diligence during onboarding and periodic reviews, ensuring compliance with AML/KYC obligations.

Validate and verify KYC information through comprehensive research and cross referencing internal and external databases.

Identify and escalate cases involving politically exposed persons and customers with medium to high AML risk.

Perform enhanced due diligence for customers with higher AML risk ratings, addressing complex compliance issues.

Conduct Source of Wealth review in accordance with regulatory and industry standards and advise on assessment and corroboration gaps; perform subsequent uplift to required standards.

Provide support to the Compliance function by handling ad hoc queries, evaluating sanctions alerts, and investigating transaction monitoring alerts for potential fraud.

Document the rationale for escalating or dismissing sanctions and transaction alerts, stay updated on AML regulations, and co-lead a team ensuring quality and efficiency.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., accounting, law) and a professional certification is a plus.

5+ years of experience in KYC, SOW, AML, forensic accounting, fraud investigation, or related fields, ideally within consulting, financial, accounting, or legal institutions.

Basic understanding of KYC / AML regulations and money laundering schemes.

Experience providing financial crime consulting to various banking sectors and skills in analyzing, drafting, and presenting reports.

Strong team player with good communication, analytical, and report-writing skills, and a commitment to professional excellence

Duties:

• Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts in accordance with AML policies and procedures.
• Analyse customer profiles, KYC records, and transaction activities to assess potential risks.
• Identify unusual or suspicious transaction patterns and escalate findings where appropriate.
• Support the review, documentation, and closure of alerts within established timelines.
• Maintain accurate case records and investigation documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Assist in the preparation of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and related documentation.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain information required for investigations.
• Support AML reviews, remediation exercises, regulatory initiatives, and ad-hoc projects assigned by the team.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Banking, Finance, Business, Accountancy, or related disciplines.
