Design Manager

Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned duties and report progress to the project team in line with programme and criteria.

• Liaise with Team Leaders to ensure projects are effectively resourced with CAD personnel and that CAD, EDMS, and BIM technologies, standards, and processes are properly implemented.

• Review designs and survey reports, coordinating with manufacturers’ design engineers to ensure compliance with procedures and policies that support project requirements.

• Maintain and enforce design standards across the portfolio to ensure high-quality presentation.

• Apply company standards and guidelines, promoting best practices among CAD and BIM users.

• Collaborate closely with project teams and provide first-level technical advice to Project Managers and team members.

• Proactively liaise with internal and external design team members to resolve issues.

• Review and ensure compliance of project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies.

• Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to maintain the integrity of overall design.

• Lead by example to achieve sector goals, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

• Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety regulations and promote awareness within the team.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in trackwork (at least 5 years of experience involved in managing a design team for railway projects of at least SGD100millioncontract sum) with a recognised degree in either Civil / Mechanical / Railway Engineering.

• Proven experience in design management within construction or engineering projects.

• Strong knowledge of CAD and BIM technologies, standards, and processes.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

• Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and commitment to promoting compliance.

Job Description

· Manage and oversee project quality to ensure compliance with codes, standards, regulations, equipment-specific specifications, and QMS requirements

· Execute quality control basing on approved materials specification, Method of Statement (MOS) and Works Quality Plan/ Inspection Test Plan (ITP)

· Conduct regular in-process inspections to ensure works are in accordance to BCA’s Good Industry Practice and QM/ CONQUAS standard

· Issuance of non-conformance report (NCRs) and monitor the performance of subcontractor for all trades to ensure defects are properly rectified

· Attend regular site meetings – to update, highlight, implement and enforce quality related matter

· Attend off-site inspection at precast yard

· Manage all correspondences and documentation related to quality matters

· Prepare unit defects report upon work completion of each trade and follow up with unit rectification completion

· Perform checks to ensure that the final touch-up works are ready for CONQUAS/ QM assessment

· Arrange and liaise with BCA for CONQUAS/ QM assessments

· Attend to project handover process to Client/ Purchaser/ MA when needed

Lead and manage all architectural works to ensure timely completion according to project schedules. Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and site teams to deliver quality architectural outcomes aligned with project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure timely completion of all architectural works according to the project master programme
• Plan and implement the architectural scope of works for projects
• Coordinate all nominated and domestic subcontractors to ensure compliance with site EHS requirements
• Prepare weekly and monthly architectural progress reports for integration into overall project progress reports
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors to schedule procurement of architectural subcontractors, materials, and deliveries

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Singapore construction with a proven track record working with A1 contractors

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD
• Proven experience in high-rise, mixed-development, or civil projects
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to perform effectively under tight deadlines

• Oversee contract execution and monitor installation progress, ensuring timely delivery through coordination with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and review method statements, shop drawings, technical submissions, and work progress reports for M&E-related tasks.
• Liaise with stakeholders to resolve technical and site issues, and coordinate with authorities for inspections, testing, and commissioning.
• Assist in procurement of materials, equipment, and labour within budget while supporting project negotiations.
• Apply expertise in Data Centers, DfMA, and specialized systems such as VAV/VRV, chillers, chilled water pipes, and lighting control systems.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience handling and monitoring the progress of projects in Construction industry.
