Job Description

We are looking for a Research Engineer for the (SHINE) Centre 2.0 co-led by Professor Massimo Alioto, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The selected candidate is expected to work on:

•    physical, thermal and circuit-to-system modeling, design exploration, architecture and validation/testing framework
•    chip and substrate model iterative fine-tuning (e.g., thermals, parasitics), early raw dataset creation from circuit/system simulations, final raw dataset creation from iterative measurements, prototype circuit design, system assembly and testing
•    data gathering and preparation, AI model architecture evaluation, training/inference implementation and integration with chip architecture
•    end-to-end system modeling, exploration, architectures and system integration
•    analog frontend circuit and sensor modeling, exploration, verification and testing
•    authoring high-quality research papers for leading conferences and journals and presenting findings at international conferences.

This role is integral to a pioneering research project focused on advancing geotechnical

investigation and monitoring techniques in the geotechnical engineering sector. The position

requires a combination of lab-based and field-based research.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team in developing and

validating a digitalise system for advanced geotechnical engineering solution. The role is

research-based and requires regular time spent both in the office/lab for data analysis and in

the site for field trials and system calibration.

Key Responsibilities

• Research &Development: Conduct detailed literature reviews and identify technical gaps.
• Field Execution& Data Acquisition: Plan and execute field trials on selected sites.
• Data Analysis& Correlation: Develop and validate robust correlation models.

As an Engineer, Test, you will:

• Conduct DFT, feedback to customer if accessibility coverage is low (<80%)

• Quotations for ICT/FPT, FCT, program sockets

• Review FCT test specification together with supplier and customer (Leica)

• Setup Offline programming station, ICT and FCT

• Liaise with supplier and customer on test coverage enhancement

• Generate test WI, TMPCN

• Provide training to test operators and debug technician

• Conduct GR&R, IQ, OQ & PQ for test fixtures

• Compile test yield report

• Guide debug technicians on the troubleshoot of failed boards

• Attend to tester breakdown

• Test time reduction

• Work together with QME team on root cause analysis for high fallout failures

• Ensure preventive maintenance is executed

• Provide equipments list that required calibration to the QA department

• Ensure debug WIP is monitored and kept at a manageable level

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Engineering (others) or equivalent
