PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

To assist the Head of Civil/Structural Engineering in delivering safe and successful project and be responsible for the assigned Civil/Structural engineering tasks across detailed design, fabrication, installation and hook-up/commissioning phase of Bul Hanine Redevelopment facilities, with focus on the successful project execution, i.e. on time, within budget and in accordance with the agreed project requirements, specifications and standards.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.        Provides assurance to safeguard technical integrity of the engineering and design deliverables within the Civil/Structural discipline, in full compliance to project specific codes/guidelines/requirements.

2.        Responsible to the Civil/Structural engineering scope assigned, e.g. scope preparation and execution, design/safety/operations reviews, procurement, supplier selection, and timely resolution of technical and engineering issues etc. Drive quality deliverables in collaboration with all stakeholders (internal and external) to maximize project value drivers.   

3.        Act as project's technical expert (TA-3) in the Civil/Structural discipline. Discuss with TA-1 and/or TA-2 to align technical expectations on project deliverables, seek approval should any deviation is required. Thoroughly investigate any proposed technical deviation to ensure it does not compromise any safety in design but generate value to improve the availability & operability of the facilities and will optimise project cost without impacting timely Project delivery.

4.        Participate in all engineering related reviews including Design Reviews (ITR/PSDR/DRR etc.), ENVID, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Bowties, ALARP, SAFOP, SIMOPS, 3D model reviews and Constructability etc. to provide timely constructive input. Ensure all the relevant discipline documents/deliverables under the assigned scope are in place to carry out these reviews effectively and efficiently.

5.        Assist Head of discipline to coordinate and align the Civil/Structural discipline interfaces between the project phases and direct the contractors design efforts accordingly considering safety, start-up, cost and constructability impacts.

6.        Establish professional work relationships with EPIC contractor. Represents QatarEnergy’s interest and assist Head of discipline to direct contractors with any technical queries and interpretation of scope, specifications and standards.

7.        Assist Head of discipline to provide technical guidance and prepare the Civil/Structural engineering specific elements required to support detailed engineering, procurement, construction, installation, technical bid evaluation, technical queries raised by contractors etc.

8.        Review Civil/Structural design basis, design calculation/reports, system studies, design philosophies, software model input and output, drawings, data bases, specifications and any other deliverables produced by contractor/vendor to provides constructive feedback timely.

9. Provides assurance and support construction, installation and hook up/commissioning team as required, to ensure all activities/works are executed in compliance to the design boundaries/intents.

Internship Period: May to December 2026 (minimum commitment period of 4–6 months)

• Document the existing process for the current internal system.
• Partner with support to create a mobile app for internal maintenance using a rapid development platform.
