The Cancer and Stem Cell Biology (CSCB) Programme studies the causes and treatments of cancer and related diseases. Position Available: Research Fellow

Join the laboratory of Zhang Baile at SPMS. We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to a project focused on topological photonic devices. Both theoretical and experimental studies are required, as part of ongoing research effort in School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NTU to develop new knowledge and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design of topological photonic devices
• Experimental study of topological and non-Hermitian photonic devices
• Exploration of new topics in related areas

Job Requirements

• A PhD degree in physics or related areas, with focus on photonic materials
• At least 4 years of relevant experiences in photonic materials / technical hands-on experience in theoretical photonics
• Familiarity with non-Hermitian physics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
• Minimum 4 research publications in top journals

• Conduct research on driving behavior related topics, such as future prediction, motion planning, agent simulation, scenario generation
• Work with large-scale internal datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness of your research
• Collaborate with different teams to deploy your research results into the autonomous vehicles 
• Publish the research results in papers and patents

What we are looking for:

• Enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or similar technical field of study
• Strong Machine Learning research background with publications in any of the top-tier conferences(RSS, ICRA, CoRL, CVPR, ICRL, ICML, NeurIPS, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python coding and PyTorch or other commonly-used deep learning frameworks
• One-team mindset and effective collaboration with other researchers and engineers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in autonomous driving is preferred

Join the laboratory of Fan Hongjin at SPMS. We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to a project focused on focused on data-driven discovery of atomic catalysts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Theoretical predictions using DFT and machine learning, and mechanistic understanding of atomic catalysts

• Investigation of mechanism by in-situ and/or operando techniques and theoretical calculations

• Coordinate the collaboration with other researchers in this project to maintain steady progress, and provide support to the research group on related experiments

• Provide support to the project management and lab infrastructure, including procurement, setting up battery fabrication line, set up equipment for in-situ and/or operando characterizations, annual and final project reports

• Make regular progress reports to PI

• Write one proposal based on results obtained from this project for external grant

Job Requirements:

• A PhD degree in material sciences or applied physics, with focus on renewable energy

• Evidenced experience in DFT and machine learning especially its application in atomic catalysts

• Strong publication record on the topic of renewable energy materials especially electrocatalysis

• Entry level candidates are welcome to apply

• Strong motivation to undertake grand challenges in multidisciplinary subjects

• Excellent team player who is capable and willing to provide supports in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment
