The role

As Compliance Director, you will build the compliance function from the ground up, centralising regulatory knowledge, setting practical workflows, and partnering with Product and Engineering to support frequent releases. You will also manage external testing and certification partners to keep launches market-ready across targeted markets.

Key responsibilities (focus areas)

• Build a central multi-jurisdiction compliance requirements repository (traceable, version-controlled, easy to use)

• Map requirements to product implementation, flag conflicts/overlaps, and close gaps

• Embed compliance into the SDLC and release cycle, including change management for updates

Position Overview: The Finance Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial, accounting, and HR functions of the organisation, ensuring fiscal health, regulatory compliance, and sound financial governance. 5. Operational and Vendor Oversight:

6. Donor/Stakeholder Engagement:

• Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end process for new donors, ensuring all personal and corporate information is accurately collected and updated in the CRM/management system.
• Database Oversight: Maintain the donor management system to track historical donations and funding commitments.
• Receipting: Timely issuance of official donation receipts, ensuring compliance with tax-deductible status regulations where applicable.
• Tracking: Monitor how donations are allocated across various programs to ensure funding is utilized according to donor intent or grant conditions.
• Accountability: Prepare reports for stakeholders that demonstrate transparency in funding utilization, supporting the organization’s "clean" audit objectives.
• AML Screening: Conduct Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and "Know Your Donor" (KYD) checks for all contributions to mitigate reputational and legal risks.

7. Grant Monitoring and KPI Alignment

• Outcome Tracking: Monitor program spending and activities to ensure they remain strictly within the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and milestones defined in the grant agreement.
• Variance Analysis: Regularly review utilization reports to identify potential under-spending or over-spending, providing early warnings to the CEO and Board.
• Compliance Framework: Ensure all grant-funded expenses adhere to the specific "allowable cost" guidelines set by the grantor.
• Audit Engagement: Coordinate and manage the Grant Audit process. This includes selecting/engaging auditors (where required), preparing the necessary schedules, and ensuring the audit is conducted according to the specific procedures mandated by the grantor.
• Regulatory Response: Act as the primary lead in handling technical queries or clarifications from the Grantors or Commissioner of Charity.
• Issue Resolution: Develop and implement management responses to any audit findings to ensure the organization remains in good standing for future funding cycles.

8. Data Protection Officer

• Policy Management: Developing and maintaining internal data protection policies (eg. Data retention, access control and breach response plans).
• Oversee in-house team of Secondary DPOs to ensure consistency in processes.
• Staff Education: Organising training sessions to ensure all employees understand their data protection obligations.
• Regulatory Liaison: Serving as the primary contact for data protection authorities during inquiries or audit.
• Public Requests: Managing Data Subject Access Request (DSARs) where individuals ask to see, correct, or delete the data the organization holds about them.
• Breach Management: Leading the response if a data leak occurs, including notifying the authorities and affected individuals within legal timeframes.

9. HR Function

• Support in-house HR function through overseeing employee insurance records, employee leave system, and manage various surveys.

10. Strategic Leadership and Support:

About the Role

IMD is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Custom Solutions to support the design and development of high-impact, client‑centric executive education programmes for leading international organisations during a temporary assignment in Singapore.

The role focuses on client engagement, solution design, and proposal development, working closely with faculty and internal stakeholders to co-create customised leadership development journeys aligned with client strategy and business priorities.

This position sits within IMD’s Custom Solutions team and operates in close collaboration with colleagues across Program Design, Faculty, and Client Engagement functions.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

Client Needs & Scoping

·        Support early-stage client discussions to understand organisational context, strategic objectives, and learning needs

·        Analyse RFPs and briefing materials to translate client requirements into coherent learning solutions

·        Contribute to trusted, consultative client dialogue in partnership with senior colleagues

Learning Design & Proposal Development

·        Collaborate with faculty and internal stakeholders to design tailored executive learning journeys

·        Contribute to the development of high-quality written proposals, integrating experiential learning, digital elements, and innovative pedagogical approaches

·        Apply emerging tools and technologies (including AI-supported approaches) to enhance solution design and proposal quality

Commercial& Pitch Support

·        Contribute to pricing and delivery feasibility discussions under guidance from senior leaders

·        Support client presentations and pitch preparation, tailoring content to different decision-making audiences

·        Iterate proposals based on client feedback while balancing pedagogical integrity and operational feasibility

Engagement Oversight & Collaboration

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

• Motivate and lead a high performance management team to achieve sales, profitability and business objectives set by the company
• Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company
• Groom and build a team of motivated F&B professionals for the company’s aggressive expansion plan
• Oversee and ensure smooth running of all aspects of restaurant operations

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee the full set of accounts, monthly closing, and timely financial reporting

• Ensure compliance with Singapore accounting standards, tax, GST, and statutory requirements

• Monitor operating costs, CAPEX, and inventory to ensure cost efficiency
• Work closely with department heads to enforce budget discipline

IT & Systems Oversight

• Oversee hotel finance and operational systems (PMS, accounting, procurement systems)
• Act as key liaison with external IT and systems vendors
• Drive process improvements and system optimisation (finance-related)

Leadership & Business Partnership

• Lead and develop the finance team (where applicable)
• Partner the GM and department heads as a trusted financial advisor
