Duties & Responsibilities

• Having Process design of Gas compression system including Process Flow Diagram (PFD), P&ID, Process safety diagram (PSD) and Heat & Mass Balance.
• Prepare and review Gas Compression P&ID
• Have the competency to run Aspen HYSYS simulation
• Able to perform sizing for pipeline within the Gas compression skid, Pulsation bottle, Scrubber (with internal), cooler, and PSV.
• Prepare the PSV sizing, settle-out and blowdown calculation report.
• Prepare Fire Fighting system design and hydraulic calculation for Gas compression skid
• Able to prepare Operating, control & Safeguarding philosophies.
• Able to work independently in process datasheets and line list
• Able to prepare and review cause and effect matrix
•  Able to lead in HAZOP / LOPA / SIL reviews independently
• Participate in technical evaluation of all equipment and instrument of gas compression system
• Participate in design review meetings with clients and vendors.

Qualification & Experience generally required

• Educational background in bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering
• 3 to 5 years direct hands-on experience in detailed engineering of gas compression systems for FPSO
• Well versed in industrial design practices and OFFSHORE requirements.
• Possess working experience level in using Aspen HYSYS
• Have work in multi-discipline team in delivering gas compression facilities and units.

THE ROLE: 

The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute the verification of new and existing features for AMD’s SerDes IP, resulting in no bugs in the final design.   

THE PERSON:  

You have a passion for modern, complex SerDes architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand the new features to be verified 
• Build test plan documentation, accounting for interactions with other features, the hardware, the firmware, and the software driver use cases 
• Estimate the time required to write the new feature tests and any required changes to the test environment 
• Build the directed and random verification tests 
• Debug test failures to determine the root cause; work with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve design defects and correct any test issues  
• Review functional and code coverage metrics – modify or add tests or constrain random tests to meet the coverage requirements 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Proficient in IP level ASIC verification 
• Proficient in debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools  
• Proficient in using UVM testbenches and working in Linux and Windows environments 
• Experienced with Verilog, System Verilog, C, and C++   
• Digital design, Analog Design, SerDes, PCIe and Ethernet knowledge 
• Developing UVM based verification frameworks and testbenches, processes and flows 
• Experienced with Co-Sim and UPI verification.
• Automating workflows in a distributed compute environment.   
• Exposure to simulation profile, efficiency improvement, acceleration, HLS tools/process 
• Strong background in the C++ language, preferably on Linux with exposure to Windows platform 
• Good understanding and hands-on experience in the UVM concepts and SystemVerilog language 
• Good working knowledge of SystemC and TLM with some related experience.   
• Scripting language experience: Perl, Python, Makefile, shell preferred.   
• Exposure to leadership or mentorship is an asset 
• Desirable assets with prior exposure to video codec system or other multimedia solutions.

Job Description

• Responsible for mechanical design and development activities for automation solutions used internally at Agilent manufacturing sites (including proposals, technical and risk assessments, concept studies, detailed designs, analyses, drawings, prototypes, tests, etc.).

• Propose mechanical architecture/outline, component placement, CAD database management, platform standardization, etc.

• Responsible for component sizing, calculations, and selection required for the automation systems.

• Serve as the key estimator for mechanical BOM cost.

• Produce detailed part and assembly 2D drawings/3D models and prepare the BOM required for procurement.

• Conduct mechanical engineering tests, characterizations, cyclic tests, and reliability tests according to requirements.

• Communicate and collaborate with internal teams (PM, marketing/internal customers, test engineers, application engineers, hardware engineers, firmware engineers, software engineers, production engineers, etc.) and external teams (suppliers, design partners, contract manufacturers, etc.).

• Coordinate and generate mechanical design–related test cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering from an accredited college or university.

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical design experience in a factory automation environment.

• Experience in designing automation systems, mechanisms, injection‑molded plastics, part/material/component selection, extrusions, elastomeric parts, sheet‑metal parts, metal stampings, interconnects, electro‑mechanical parts, and EMI shielding.

• Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Demonstrates leadership, influencing, communication, and planning capabilities.
